Band Events!

Dear 5-8 Band Parents,

A note to inform you of the music events scheduled for the reminder of the year.

Grades 5-8 will once again be marching in the Memorial Day Parade, which will be held on Monday, May 28th, at 10:00pm. The parade will assemble at 9:20am in the Citizens Bank parking lot. Parade dress is patriotic colors. Although participation is not a mandatory, please plan to have your child participate in this important community service/town event.

Grades 5 -8 bands will present a Spring Band Concert on June 7th at 6:00pm at the North Hampton School gym. Students will need to report to the NHS Gym at 5:40pm with instrument and music. Concert dress will be black and white.
When students arrive at the concert they will need to get their instrument/music out and then return and sit up front with their class until called up to perform. I appreciate all your efforts in helping things to run smoothly with transitions and audience behavior in advance. No student should arrive and be at the concert without adult supervision.

All band students are expected to participate in the band concert as they are the second of two performance assessments this year and every student is important to the success of the groups as a whole. Please let all coaches know well in advance of these events, as absences for sports practices or games will not be excused.

The students have been working hard to prepare the music and are looking forward to performing for you! Also info is available at the NHS Band Blog, that you can access from the classroom page of the school website. Thank you in advance for your support in arranging your child’s schedule to be at these events! If you have any questions please contact me at 964-5501 or e-mail at dsinger@sau21.org
Sincerely, Daniel P. Singer
NHS Band Director

Practicing!

As the weather has gotten warmer there has been a noticeable drop in instruments going home and being practiced. Please make sure your child is practicing their music in preparation for the Spring Band Concert on June 7th.
Thanks!
