Grades 7&8 Bands to Participate in the SAU 21 Band Festival January 29, 2008

Grades 7&8 bands will be participating in the annual SAU #21 Band Festival on March 6th at 6:30pm@ WHS. Students will need to arrive at the WHS auditorium by 4:00pm and the entire festival should be over by 8:00pm.

Practicing!
Practice is very important to the successful development of instrumental players and to successful concerts as well as enjoyment of playing the instrument. It is not always easy for students to find the time in their busy schedules but it is essential. Many students have been practicing their instruments and music consistently while others need support in this area. For those needing support practice charts will be issued for a designated period of time and students will need to record their practicing and have it signed by you and returned to me. I appreciate all your support and efforts in the area of practice! Also consistent attendance at morning band lessons is critical!! An incentive idea for students to practice might be receiving an iTunes card after so many minutes or weeks of practice.

Please be sure that your child has their instrument when they need it this week! Especially grade 7&8 students for this Monday! Grades 5-7 parents should have received a notice stating that lessons are resuming this week. Knowing how difficult it is to get up and moving in the morning please be sure to be on-time to lessons as they start at 7:50am. Thanks! ~Mr. S.

“We Will Rock You” rocks!! Next look at Surfin’ USA. Great work earning 4 power points for rehearsal-several of us still need to work on focusing during band and not carrying on disruptive side conversations. We get so much done as was exhibited today when we are focused!! ~Mr. S
